We all know construction is core to our business, so to be at the Construction News Workforce Awards with some of the most well known construction companies is business goals for sure! 🤩
For Kelly to be a finalist in the “Inspiring Women into Construction” Award, and for the business to be the only recruiter in the room just highlights the dedication to not only the industry as a whole, but to mental well-being within it, to the future generation and to equality, diversity, and inclusion. 🏗️

Kelly has admired AccXel’s work from afar, for quite some time and when the opportunity to pitch to be an ambassador arose, she just knew she had to be involved! When Kelly finally met @hathers1988 & @nicola_bird_accxel at @natfedbuilders Top 100 Awards last week, they just clicked and Kelly just knew, that together, they can change the face of construction.
AccXel is the Construction Skills Accelerator Centre is the first co-funded, industry led construction education facility in the UK. Accxel will change the face of construction education through encouraging pupils, school leavers, career changers and career starters into construction, as well as upskilling those already in the industry and I am super excited to support this mission.
We always believe in order to overcome the huge challenges the construction industry faces we need to collaborate, support each other, champion what a fantastic industry we have and make the change.
Now let’s see what this collaboration can do! 💚💛❤️

We all know we need more diversity in the sector and evenings like this are so important to help recognise role models who can give the sector a different reputation, and showcase the amazing industry we are in, so they choose construction as a career.

We have always admired the fantastic work that @bandofbuilders_ have done for years, helping tradespeople has always been the sole purpose of theirs, starting with home improvement projects to give back to less able workers, to now holding their annual “big brew” campaign that aims to get trades talking!
At the @designandbuilduk – Women in Construction Awards, Kelly was sat with Gavin Crane for the evening and WOW, what a guy! 🤩
Gavin told her about their next venture due to launch, BoB – which is a 24 hour free construction industry text support line for help and guidance. No appointments, no waiting times, just someone to talk to when you need it most. The service is completely confidential.
